• Mount Kinabalu
  The mountain and its surroundings feature a huge variety of flora, and is one of the world's most important biological sites.

  It comprises 49 square kilometers of which two-thirds are sea, and the rest is coral reefs and five islands.

• Sipadan Island Semporna
  Sipadan is the only oceanic island in Malaysia, rising 2,000 feet or 600m from the seabed.

• Pulau Tiga
  The Pulau Tiga Park comprises three islands-Pulau Tiga, Pulau Kalampunian Besar and Pulau Kalamunian Damit situated in the Kimanis Bay, off the west coast of Sabah.

• Padas River
  One of the internationally best-recognised white water river in Malaysia is the Padas River in Sabah with its Grade 3 and 4 rapids offering some of the most interesting courses for rafters.

• Kinabatangan River
  It is the second longest river in Malaysia, with a length of 560 kilometers from its headwaters in the mountains of southwest Sabah, to its outlet at the Sulu Sea, east of Sandakan.

Itinerary

Day 1 (L/D)
0600hrs Depart 245km to Sapulut via Tambunan, Keningau, Sook and Nabawan with a brief stop at Keningau. Continue your journey for 3-4 hours drive on rough and rugged timber road to Kg. Labang. On arrival at Kg. Labang, check-in to one of the native house built on stilts. Proceed to visit the nearby cave and witness the harvesting of edible bird nest when in season. Mingle with native Muruts in the evening and sample their traditional tapioca wine. Overnight at basic native accommodation or similar

Day 2 (B/L/D)
0700hrs After breakfast continue your journey for another 2-3 hours boat ride to Batu Punggul. Check-in at basic accommodation and begin your trek to explore the rainforest around Batu Punggul and its cave. For more excitement, you may even climb to the top of the limestone massif (170m) and enjoy a breath-taking view of the unbroken forest canopy and mountain ranges beyond. Explore further for more caves at Tinahas before returning for your lunch. After lunch, proceed to another trail that lead to the observation tower before returning for a swim at the river. Overnight at basic accommodation or similar

Day 3 (B/L)
0700hrs Depart Batu Punggul by longboat and witness the livelihood of the native Muruts along the river. Upon arrival at Kg Labang, retrace your journey back to Kota Kinabalu.

Things to bring: suntan cream, personal toiletries, insect repellent, trekking shoes, towel, torchlight, raincoat, personal toiletries and mineral water.
